TCA Honoured at HAVAN Awards for Project with Sitka Construction

At the most recent HAVAN Awards, TCA Electric and longtime contracting collaborator Sitka Coast Construction took home the award for Best Bathroom Renovation Over $50,000 for our work on the Soiree Suite Spot at King’s Landing Apartments. Not only that, but we were also recognized alongside Sitka by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association. We couldn’t be more grateful for this recognition, and we were excited to share the news with all of our readers, customers, and followers!
HAVAN Award for Best Bathroom Renovation Over $50,000
Each year, the Homebuilders Association Vancouver (HAVAN) Awards honour excellence in home design, renovations, remodels, and more. HAVAN is the leading homebuilders association in Vancouver, and the second-largest in all of Canada, with more than 1,100 talented members including builders, designers, and professionals in various trades.
Winners at the 2022 edition of the HAVAN Awards were announced on April 30, and TCA Electric was thrilled to learn that a Sitka project we collaborated on was honoured as the Best Bathroom Renovation Over $50,000! We also shared in three other nominations for Sitka projects: Best Townhouse/Condo Renovation Over $250,000, Best Kitchen Renovation Over $150,000, and Best Renovation $700,000–$1 Million.
The project: An intricate bathroom renovation
We collaborated with Sitka Coast Construction on the full renovation of this luxury apartment building, but the focus of this award was the bathroom remodel we worked on in the Soiree Suite Spot. The new design for the space included installation of an additional, separate vanity, which meant doubling the amount of receptacles and fixtures in the room.
To accomplish this, we had to work around the space’s existing structure, which wasn’t designed to accommodate two vanities. This required thinner boxes, added junctions, and a good bit of creativity from our team to perfectly mirror the existing vanity, meticulously positioning each fixture and device so that the designs would match exactly.
As a final touch, the undercabinet LED lights included motion sensors. These sensors needed to be carefully positioned and programmed to turn on and off when desired. In the end, this complex project came together beautifully and brought the designer’s vision for the bathroom of this suite to life!
Perfect execution with our longtime collaborators
We began working with Sitka Coast Construction back in 2018, after we were referred as the best electrician in Vancouver. Since our first collaboration, we’ve developed a close working relationship with Sitka, completing more than 10 home renovation projects in that time.
We love working with Sitka because of their professionalism, their dedication to organization and planning throughout every stage of their projects, and their expert on-site direction. It’s easy to work well with a contracting partner when they share so many important values and work on such beautifully designed projects!
We’re currently working on several more projects with Sitka Coast Construction, including a single-family home renovation in Deep Cove, a major addition in the Capilano area, and a penthouse renovation in the South Granville area. We hope this award is the first of many as we continue to collaborate on beautiful projects in the Vancouver area!
A highly decorated project
In addition to our win at the HAVAN Awards, TCA was also recognized alongside Sitka by the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA). These honours covered other electrical work we completed during the same project. TCA and Sitka received awards from the CHBA for:
- Best Whole Home Renovation : $600,001 – $800,000
- Best Kitchen Renovation: over $100,000
All in all, this project was a resounding success, and we look forward to further collaborations with the talented professionals at Sitka!
